Yes. It is going to snow. Il va neiger. They discuss this type of future tense at length. Another form is It will snow: Il neigerai. I don't think that they discuss this form much or at all. This form is discussed at great length in the recordings of Michel Thomas. They are good.

Yet in French it sounds almost like a prophecy, a prediction...which is why we chose to stick to more common forms of expressing the future in spoken French like the structure Aller + infinitive verb, or the present itself.
Nous partons demain - We're leaving tomorrow.
Je vais le faire - I'm going to do it.
