To your first question, Sonia does point out in the discussion that both después and antes are followed by the preposition "de." So it's not "después" + "del museo." It's "después de" (the two words together meaning "before") + "el museo" (the museum).

And I am tired and realize that "después de" means "after," not "before." My apologies. But both después and antes are grouped with "de."

Del museo in other contexts could mean "from the museum" or "of the museum", but here you have the contraction "del" because you ALWAYS say:
Después de = After
Antes de = Before
