Hola from Pennsylvania. I hit the lottery with daily, free, some extremely active language exchanges through the Meetup app (or meetup.com). Just choose languages for your interest and there will be a lot of options. So far, the meetings that Timothy does are my favorites. Beepboop and Memrise together have started live exchanges as well. Just look them all up on facebook. A language exchange is where you converse with a person fluent in your target language, but learning your native language. I found a partner, and we spend about 4 hours a week together. Our conversational skills are exponentially growing. It's nice to get to know a few steady attendees because their graciousness and kind patience helps put me at ease. I always think I'm going to leave early, and I'm always there to the end. Once in a while I need to take a few days off for focused study, though. Usually my mind is zinging with Spanish for hours afterwards, and I speak my conversations out loud in my own company. I finally hit a plateau where I need to resolve some words that confuse me. It makes me want to study, and I'm so happy to help others, too! Everyone is patient with each other because we all know what it feels like to stutter and search for words we know that we know. I felt like I delivered a baby when someone filled in 'finito' for me once. Seriously! iTalki, or any other language exchange is worth trying, but the Meetup groups (which vary each day) have been filled with the most international colegas a person could hope to find. Perhaps I'll run into you there.
I'm not quite intermediate yet, but I have some all English-learning-Spanish ladies' groups that you are welcome to try. Just let me know!
