Currently the peso is used by Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Philippines, and Uruguay. And given the wide rage of value from country to country and variations in inflation at any given moment, it would be logistically impossible for any program to account for all the variations. Not to mention all the Spanish speaking countries that use other currency. And the first time I spoke to taxi driver in Spanish I was in Miami and was paying with dollars.
Because there are so many variations, it's best to think of the example sentence like a formula and the number and currency are variables that change based on location and situation. 10,000 pesos, 25 sols, 15 dollars, etc.
Also currently 20 Mexican pesos is roughly 1 American dollar which would also be too little for cab ride.
Have fun in Colombia! I know you will. It is an incredible country. The food, the people, the climate. It's amazing!
