Here I think we didn't realize the difference when we wrote the exercise because actually in French there is no way of making a difference between "very much" and "much" in this type of phrase. In French you can just say:
He/She doesn't speak a lot - Il/Elle ne parle pas beaucoup
It would be wrong to associate "très" and "beaucoup", that's not correct in French so we'll take out the "very" here in English to avoid confusions in this exercise.
