German "it"... why does Fluenz German use der, die, das instead of er, sie, es for "it". I've taken german at the college level for over a year and it has always been the case that "it" was er, es, sie not der, das, die as Fluenz has it.
Is this the case further on in Fluenz/are they doing this only to simplify the pronouns early on, or in German can either es/das, er/der, or sie/die mean "it".
