Hi; I'm not 100% sure, but I think the difference is that in the case of Stade de France, this is the name of the stadium. You would not say in English the France Stadium. but you would say the Notre Dame cathedral, and the Orsay museum. You can just say we are going to Notre Dame or the Orsay.
