Hi Molly,
It's very normal to have to play a phrase, especially the longer phrases multiple times. Personally, I even repeat them 5 times or more. It's a matter of having to tune your ear to the frequency of a new language, but eventually, it'll become easier. With that said, if you go to online.fluenz.com and stream a lesson, there is a special function to slow the speed down on the upper right. You may find that to be helpful. Either way, don't let it discourage you to have to repeat the phrases, it's part of the learning process.
