There is no single answer to this because it depends on the person, the difficulty of a particular session, and the proximity of the user to their foreign vacation. Some sessions I can get all I need out of he opening dialogue, while others I may need to run completely through twice -- depending on how action-packed they are. Also, if you find yourself with only two weeks to go before a trip to, say, Italy, with 12 lessons to go before you complete a level, you may want to limit the amount of times you go through any single lesson.

I have been through the complete five level course twice. The first time I rushed through it, to be honest, and found myself struggling at various points. The second time, I slowed way down, taking about three hours with each lesson, and making lots of notes in a hand-written notebook to capture the things that had caused me problems on the first (rushed) pass through. I have reviewed those notes several times, although the review doesn't take long - usually just a few minutes for each lesson.
