(Nosotros) estamos means (We) are. Están can mean either "They are" or "You are." But you would only use it to mean "You are" if you are addressing more than one person (as opposed to using "está" if only addressing one person). Perhaps these examples will help:Estamos feliz. We are happy.Está feliz. You are happy.Ellos están feliz. They are happy.Ustedes están feliz. You (plural) are well.Often times, the subjects "ellos" and "ustedes" won’t be used, and therefore the context of the setence makes it clear whether están means "They are" or "You (plural) are."
