Ok, here is a great example of how ser and estar will get trickier. We will dedicate entire sessions to these two later on.
In this case: "La fiesta no va a ser en su casa" you cannot use estar. The reason is that the party is not a thing that you can physically put in a location... It’s more like an event.. So for example if you were to say, The car is going to be at her house, then you use estar because the car is a physical thing that will be located in the house.. El auto va a estar en su casa.
In the case of the party, well it’s trickier. Something like it would be, the meeting. The meeting will be at the office- La reunión va a ser en la oficina.. Again since it is not something tangible per say, then we use ser.
If you think about it, the location kind of defines it´s identity.. A party can’t just happen in thin air right? It needs a place, so the place in a way defines it, even if it changes. Creo que la fiesta va a ser en casa de Marco, pero no sé, quizás va a ser en casa de Pablo- I think the party is going to be in Marco’s house, but (I) don’t know, maybe it will be in Pablo’s house.
