I just posted a comment in another part of the Recent Activity section about this very point. In fact, in Lesson 12, prossimo is used both in front and after several "time" words!

It can go before or after and you will hear it both ways. Sonia mentions this is in one of the podcasts (can't recall which one, its been a while!)

then why in her explanation dialogue does she state "it's always la settimana prossima or la settimana scorsa"? She was pretty emphatic about it.
