Fluenz 4, session 28, "Match the words" pertaining to use of "de" with adjectives. One sentence is: Il fait quelque chose de mal? translated as Did he do something bad? First of all, I do not recall that we were taught to use adverbs with quelque chose de. One confusing point, pervasive throughout Fluenz, is the use of poor ENGLISH. I presume the sentence was meant as "Did he do something badly?" which has a very different meaning from "Did he do something bad?" which (I think) would be Il fait quelque chose de mauvais? Likewise in the preceding panel is Vous avez vu quelque chose de bien? translated as Did you see something well? I would think this would be Vous avez vu bien quelque chose? and the preceding point would be Il fait mal quelque chose?
Following the point above about the poor English: I know it is not common usage, but in fact the rule of the noun following the preposition actually applies to proper English as well as French, although this rule is violated throughout Fluenz.
