We do plan to at some point, but we're not currently working on it so I can't say when this might happen. We actually did start developing it a while back and made substantial progress, but we simply didn't think it was good enough so we dropped the project at that point until we can put together a better Portuguese team.

How often has this happened, that you begin a program but then stop because you don't think it's good enough?

Yeah, I inquired about Brazilian Portugese early this year and I was thrilled that they were going to have it out in September 2011, but now I know why they didn't bring it to market. One thing that it could be is the different ways you pronounce things. If you are from Sao Paulo you will pronounce it different from people from Rio. They will probably go with the Carioca way (people from Rio) of pronouncing it like most of Brazil, but the purest will go with the Paulista way (people from Sao Paulo). Anyway, it's important that they get it right. I found some differences with pronunciations in German and one of the ladies speaks so nicely and the other one kind of slurs her words that it makes it sound completely different then what was taught. Besides the other little mistakes that you catch, because they teach the language and explain it so well that I love this language course. I am in my third week of German 1 right now.

Portuguese is the only one that we've put on the shelf so far. We don't start creating a new course until we're confident that we have a great team together for it, so that generally prevents us from going down a road that doesn't lead to something we're happy with.

Well, I won't study Portuguese until Fluenz publishes it. I love your programs! Well, I will carry on with my French then. Thanks for taking the time to make sure the final product is prestine

Is there any update on this? Will you be releasing Portuguese (Brazilian) in the near future?
