THIS IS APPLICABLE TO ALL THE FLUENZ PROGRAMS.
The Fluenz program displays are set up for 1024 x 768 monitors, probably so they can run on netbooks and such. On a larger home display the image can be very compressed. The best way to fix this is to run Fluenz under the control of a resolution-changing utility. I found that "Display Changer" works well.
Display Changer is available free for personal use from
http://www.12noon.com/displaychanger.... Download the dc-setup.exe installer and run it. This will create the folder "12noon Display Changer" in your C:\Program Files folder. From there, copy the file "dc.exe" into your C:\Windows folder.
Once dc.exe is in your C:\Windows folder, you need to alter the Fluenz program shortcut. The object of doing this is to let DC run first (to lower the resolution of your display). Then DC runs the Fluenz program. When Fluenz is done, DC changes the resolution back to what you normally use. This is all explained on the DC website.
To proceed, locate the shortcut to your Fluenz program. This is probably on the desktop, or in Start Menu | Programs. Right-click on it and select "Properties". Look at the Target line.
My Target line was originally "C:\Fluenz\Fluenz German 1\fluenz.exe".
Keeping the quote marks, I changed this Target line to:
C:\WINDOWS\dc.exe -width=1024 -height=768 "C:\Fluenz\Fluenz German 1\fluenz.exe"
If your original Target line is differenct, adjust accordingly. Basically, you just want to add
C:\WINDOWS\dc.exe -width=1024 -height=768
in front of what's already in the Target line.
Now OK everything, and then run Fluenz from its modified shortcut. It should run full-screen, and exit back to your normal desktop.
