I am enjoying and learning a lot from the French program. I'm on level 4 now after starting in October. One thing that periodically bothers me and then goes away is the pronunciation of the word "participle." In English, the word is pronounced "PAR tih sip uhl," not "par TISS ih puhl." This has bothered me throughout the sessions but today it became very distracting (level 4, session 4) because Carolyn repeats it over and over. Sonia also says "par TISS ih puhl." This may seem nitpicky but I find myself very immersed in the session until I hear this and then I get distracted--enough to log on and post this. I don't know if you want to correct this by dubbing in the correct pronunciation, but it's something to consider.
In my opinion it detracts from the sensation of having a good teacher, because it seems less like a forgivable non-native English-speaker pronunciation and more like an incorrectly learned, affected pronunciation. It would be like having a math teacher say "SUHB-truck shin" instead of "suhb TRAK shuhn"--not important as far as the content of what you are learning goes, but very distracting nonetheless. The effect is even stronger because Carolyn otherwise speaks English so well.
