We certainly share similar concerns. However, 100% protection against piracy is impossible. Every software company has to make a certain decision about how much freedom they wish to give their users vs. how much they wish to protect themselves against piracy. I've personally had conversations with the Fluenz team about this many times over the years. While creating an online version of the software does of course expose us to a greater risk of piracy, that's a risk we've decided we're willing to take. In the end, we believe there are enough people out there who both want it and are willing to pay for it that it will prove to be beneficial to Fluenz in the long run.
Having said all that, there are ways to guard against piracy even in the online space. Trust me, we'd definitely notice if your account was being used by thousands of people :)
