There is a resume button at the top of the page, but I'm not sure it will work if you accidentally leave the page by hitting backspace. You could try it tho.

I just tried it and It works for me. When you load the flashcards page instead of clicking "GO" instead go to the top of the page by the "HELP" button and click "RESUME". It should work. Thanks.

Pass this along to your developers. They need to add the onbeforeunload event handler for window, for example
window.onbeforeunload = function(e) {
//ie
e.returnValue = "Are you sure you wish to leave this page";
//web kit based browsers
return "Are you sure you you wish to leave this page";
}
This will prevent the issue the young woman is talking about.

Butterfly2010 -- solved :) This is actually something the browser does on its own as opposed to a "feature" that we put in ourselves. Go to any website, click on a link, and then press backspace on the next page. You'll see that it takes you back to the previous page. But we're now blocking this functionality. Thanks for pointing this out!

It looks like the fix disabled the backspace key entirely. I understand you can't please everyone, but now if I make a spelling error I have to arrow back to before the error and delete.

Hey Eric, I don't have the issues mentioned as I use the tampermonkey plugin for chrome with some custom javascript to take care of the issue.
IMO for the general, less technically inclined user there really needs to be a "smart" onbeforeunload javascript event handler. By smart I mean if the user has progressed in the flashcards but their progress is unsaved then they receive a prompt asking if the user really wishes to go backwards.
By the way, I really do love the flashcards and am super glad you all at Fluenz did this. Excellent work all in all. Xie Xie

Please reenable the delete key! I have a mac and don't have a separate delete and backspace button. You disable backspace, I can't delete anything. Now I can't use the flashcards!!! I'm not happy at all.

If you have a Mac, the backspace key is at the bottom right of the keyboard. It is the arrow pointing left.
