I think there are two things here. First you use J'ai aimé or J'ai bien aimé in the past, in the present it's: J'aime or J'aime bien. Second, for objects/things you can use either J'aime or J'aime bien to say "I like", and you use J'adore to mean "I love", however for people, you use J'aime bien to mean "I like" but J'aime would mean "I love"...
