Dear Raymond, thanks for your comments, as we´re continuously looking to improve our program, we'll keep in mind this suggestion for further developments and updates to the programs. I don't know if this may help, but you could probably write down or print out the keys inputting French accents, and keep them close to you while using Fluenz, that way it'll take less time. Here are the keys, once again:
shift + 6 + A = â
` + A = à
; + A = á
; + C = ç
Have a great day! And let us know if you need any further assistance. Cheers!

Thanks for you reply. The writing part is the only part of the program I do not care for, especially when there is a lot of accent marks or the little hat over the "i", whatever it's called. I guess not having much of a choice one will get used to it. I'm a court reporter and my fingers are trained to know where to automatically go, and react very fast. Maybe this is the reason why I think it takes me too long, because I have to now think, instead of just reacting.

Hi again! I'm sorry if this is a problem. I agree with you that is just a matter of getting used to know how to locate the keys that make the accents. I had the same problem while I was learning and writing in Italian, because there are many vowels with accents, and when I set up my keyboard in Italian I had to memorize the keys to hit in order to make them happen. But after some practice it just becomes second nature, and much less of a nuisance. Keep up the good work! À bientôt!

An example I now have is last night while my wife watched a repeat episode of House, I decided to do a lesson while she watched tv. I didn't want to put a light on and when the time came to write things down, I had to stop because it was too tedious looking for the different marks to make up the word. I wish if we can spell it correctly, the accents would come up automatically.

Buy an AZERTY keyboard. Enable French.
