Hi! Collega is one of those words in Italian which is an exception to the gender rules. That means that collega remains the same whether it is feminine or masculine, so you can have both female and masculine "collega". If you want to make it masculine you would say: "Il mio collega" and if you want to refer to a feminine colleague, you would say: "La mia collega". There are other words which follow this exception rule, not many fortunately. Other examples I can think of are:
L'atleta (athlete), il/la turista (tourist), il/la dentista (dentist), il/la tennista (tennis player), lo/la specialista (specialist). Note that these words will usually en in "a".
