Hola! Although the general rule is to place the adjective after the noun, it's not a fixed rule. In the beginning it is best to remember it that way in order to avoid confusion. The difference between placing the adjective before and after the noun, would be that before the noun, the adjective or the quality is emphasized. Both ways are correct. When you want to emphasize the quality of a noun (i.e. a thing, person, place, etc.) you could place the adjective before. Also this is widely used in Spanish poetry, which is more dramatic and emotional than normal speech. Hope this helps! Y sigue adelante con tus esfuerzos para aprender Español! Vas muy bien!

WOW, Marc. You are in Fluenz 2 and can write like that? I must be an idiot! I have finished all 5 levels and couldn't write that. However, I can read it. Thanks for asking the question--it helped me.

Leo, your answer was very helpful, thanks. And J Webb, my wife, who is fluent, corrected a few errors before I posted, so don't be discouraged.
