kan bu dao is right. I dont have any formal education in this but Im Chinese and was raised speaking some Mandarin. Kan de dao is "able to see". Kan dao is "did see". There's a difference between being able to see and actually seeing. The opposite would be Kan BU dao... UNable to see. Bu kan dao doesnt seem right as "didnt see" would be MAY kan dao. (plz excuse the wierd pinyin spellings... Im just sounding it out)

I am a fellow user so I may be wrong but kandao pretty much means "look arrive" and then to say cannot see you are say "look no arrive" or "look no see". Kind of like ting bu xxxx means "listen no understand". It seems to be a similary construction.
