Hi Bill. The Flashcards are definitely a bit buggy on the iPad, something a couple of us are working on resolving at the moment. For now, we often find that opening and closing the Accents + Shortcuts screen (tap the button on the red menu bar at the top) will allow you to move on to the next card again. I realize this isn't a great workaround, and we'll post here on the commons once we think the core issue has been resolved.

Ok Eric, I thought it was just me at first, but thanks for the information!

I also bought an ipad but not for the falshcards. Too difficult to type. Since you are doing French ( I'm learning Italian and don't have this option). You can change your language to French and do voice dictation using the microphone. I do the same with Google translate and have discovered that I am mispronouncing many words. The reason I bought it was to help me with my speaking since I don't have access to a native speaker and I'm not yet advanced enough even if I did. Not sure about the problem you are having, but if it gets resolved using the voice dictation would be pretty cool. Maybe someday Apple will have voice dictation for Italian which I would really like.
Good Luck
