I'd suggest going through the last lesson in each of the levels. (I've only done German 1 so far, but I assume each level ends with a general review)
You could also try looking through the table of contents for each of the levels, and check out anything you're unsure about. Reminding yourself of something you've already been through should be quicker than learning it for the first time.
Maybe take some notes of the things that you're having trouble with as a "cheat sheet" of sorts, that way you could take that with you on your trip to remind yourself of anything you might forget.
As for moving through new lessons quicker, I'm really not sure about how best to do that, so I guess I'll just wish you good luck. Your idea for the review session days sounds good.
