Well, in Mandarin I spend about 40 min each time I go through a session. I make it a point to repeat the words until I think I can speak the correct pronunciation, and I read the words and phrases for every exercise aloud. I spend about 10 min on the flashcards for the lesson that night. Then I go through the entire lesson again within a few days (again spending about 40 min). I also write down the new words I've learned and review them during the day. Maybe I'm a slow learner or just that Mandarin is quite foreign to me, but this is the amount of effort I've had to put into getting the material to sink in.

I was doing the Mandarin 1+2 sessions in somewhere between 40 minutes and an hour. Mandarin 3 is turning out to have some lessons that are taking me longer, and I'm actually having to do several of them multiple times to get the vocabulary reasonably firmly in my head.
I don't think it matters how long it takes you, what matters is that you get is solid, or close to. If you're getting almost everything on the workouts correct first time, then you should move on. If you're struggling and making mistakes, then do it again before you move on.
