One way to find out if something is a mistake or not is to put the phrase into google and see if it appears a lot. In this case there was:
Preguntas frecuentes de Hoteles
¿Cómo puedo pagar una reserva de hotel?
Many people spend far too much time worrying about the literal translation of each word. Languages aren't all the same and can not be used as such, this is why using google translate isn't very accurate! I would think out of all the times somebody thinks there is a mistake with the program, maybe 0.5% of the time it will be the case!

I am only on Spanish Disk 3 but the phrase seems correct to me. In english we would probably say "pay for the reservation" which would suggest the need for the "para" but I think they don't require that extra "for" in spanish. They seem to streamline such ideas.

Pagar can translate at "to pay" or "to pay for". Para is not needed.
