Don't be afraid to practice with people a bit out of your own skill level. It's how you learn and expand your vocabulary. Especially with people who have not used fluenz; you may both be able to teach each-other things. Check out meetup.com for conversation groups in your area.

I had the same problem but I'm working on it by joining a Meetup group in my area. I think they are everywhere. Just do a websearch for Meetups and then you can look for one in your area that does Spanish. We only have about 8 people in ours, but it's a very worthwhile thing to do to practice speaking in Spanish.

You can practise speaking spanish with natives if you opt for a language exchange, although you will have to reciprocate by helping them with English too! I found when I first started this helped immensely. I assume there are a few out there but the one I used which is free is www.conversationexchange.com. Hope this helps

You are fortunate that their are over 60 million Spanish-speaking people in this country-should have no problem finding someone! On the other hand, I am learning German here and in was in Berlin for 3 months and going to VIenna for 5 months to strengthen my German-I wish there were German-speaking people around here to speak and even study with!
