questions without pronouns
This is sort of a two-part question. Many examples I'm finding of how to structure a sentence are done with pronouns, ie Do you want to eat? But what about when the subject of the sentence isn't a pronoun. For example, using the est-ce que structure taught in the beginning levels of Fluenz, how would I ask, "Where is the office?" Would it be, "Où est-ce que le bureau est?" Is the est-ce que structure necessary/required to be grammatically correct? Would "Où est le bureau?" be grammatically in correct in French?
On a similar topic, all the examples in the additional books I'm using in my studies talk about inversion as an alternate method to ask a question. Can inversion be done only when the subject is a pronoun such as "Veux-tu manger maintenant?" Can this technique be done without a pronoun such as "Est-le bureau grand?" That second one admittedly looks wrong to me, but wanted to check.
Merci.
