Hi Myrt,
In French you typically use "On" as an informal way of saying "We". It is also used as a general way of saying everyone. More like how we use "You" to mean everyone in general. I find it to be used much more than "Nous". Hope this helps!

I agree with Andy. My two native french speaking teachers at the French Alliance also said it is used a lot!! Even when it's not the most correct thing to use.
