I'm nowhere near there yet, but I too have wondered what Fluenz and/or Ms. Gil would recommend for continued studies. If there aren't going to be additional levels produced, any suggestions for other resources to continue one's studies beyond level 5? Obviously immersion would be ideal, but if that's not possible, what other things could one do to get better over time?

I am with you two as well. Let me know if you hear of anything...

I just started using Fluenz last year so haven't finished the discs yet. however, I started with Coffee Break French a few years ago & they cover future tenses in lesson 77, and the conditional, perfect and imperfect tenses sooner than that. Mark, the instructor, is very big into grammar so he covers things very thoroughly. I love the program.

Oh, and there's more about future tenses in 305 & 306 (season 3, lessons 5 & 6). Fluenz and Coffee Break French are very compatible programs. They style of teaching is very similar.

Thanks for the suggestion, Laura. Do you do anything with Coffee Break French beyond their podcasts?

Yes. I got through quite a bit of it, like through lesson 50 on just the podcasts alone (I drive a lot) and learned so much. Then there got to be so many words that sound alike but are spelled differently I purchased the platinum level which has the written material, enhanced podcasts (very useful!) and the bonus episodes. But just going through lesson 45 or so of CBF I was able to cruise through Rosetta Stone levels 1 & 2, which I had bought years ago and become disillusioned with because it was a lot of guessing. Then I purchased level 3 of RS because I thought I might as well continue. But within weeks found Fluenz and sent RS3 back. I'm loving Fluenz because of all the writing so I remember things better. My husband has gone through RS German 1-5, the Berlitz Mastering German, and then when I found Fluenz he got levels 3-5. He learned some things in Fluenz 3 none of the other things taught him. We just found out they are releasing Coffee Break German in January and he's very excited because he's heard my lessons on CBF.
I sort of went off track there but I've found CBF to be very worth it :-)

That's quite all right. Thanks for that info. I'll have to check out the CBF material. Merci beaucoup.
