Alliance Française
Has anyone here taken classes at Alliance Française? I'm curious about what the experience is like. My experience with Fluenz has been very good and I fully intend to carry on, I have already purchased up through level 5. However I feel as though I really need to have some interaction with other speaking French.
I just signed up for A1+ course, which is for students who are beginners but have had some exposure to French. They also have an A1 course, but that is for complete beginners. I'm currently on level 2 and just finished lesson 9 tonight in Fluenz. I'll likely have started on level 3 by the time the Alliance Française class starts. So I think the A1+ is a good place to start? I did take the assessment test they have the other day, they haven't gotten back to me yet. I did have a little trouble with it. They ask you to describe yourself, age, name, hobbies, etc. Things that even being on level 2 with Fluenz I haven't really encountered yet, I do understand that Fluenz takes a non-traditional approach to teaching. So I am a little bit concerned about potentially not knowing some things that might typically be taught week 1 of a traditional French course, since I'm not starting off with the complete beginner course. Anyone have any advice or suggestions?
