Not that I am the authority by any means, but I actually find the microphone sessions extremely useful. It's the opportunity to listen to something being spoken and then record yourself saying it, then you can go back and compare. I'll usually repeat that cycle several times with each line until I feel I'm able to sound close to what the person in the program is speaking. Then I really like the dialog section, where you are speaking one part of the dialog. I think that helps a lot with the timing. The goal being when you listen back to the whole conversation it sounds like a real conversation.
I like your idea #4, especially as the lessons become difficult and complex, it would be nice to jump to areas where you feel you need more work. The beta online version works that way and it's a nice feature.
One thing that would add to a wish list would be some reference to vocabulary that has already been learned. In my situation, I'm sure actually for many, you don't get a lot of opportunities to speak French every day, so some vocabulary that I've learned in previous lessons starts hiding in the cobweb areas of my brain. It would be nice to have a vocabulary list to review on a regular bases just to keep some of that stuff fresh.
