I am also curious about what Fluenz has to say about this. But I have a feeling it could just be one of those ambiguities that crept into modern Mandarin, much like we have in English, which just have to be learned for each word..? Eg, why is mei tian two words, but jintian is one word? Vs, why is "any day" two words but "everyday" is one word? Argh.

i have the answer > For days of the week ending in "s", the plural is unchanged from the singular. For sábado and domingo (ending in "o") you add an "s" to make the plural.
