{Background - I'm American (Philadelphia), learned Spanish in Medellin, Colombia,married to a Spaniard from Burgos}
This is one of those "Don't worry about it. You're fine either way," answers. You'll be perfectly understood.
On the other hand, I LOVE differences in dialects. I pointed out to my wife, who never noticed, that Spaniards say the "S" somewhat like and "sh."
My observations about the "ll":
Colombia, "Ella" = "EH-jah" at least in Medellin (meh-deh-JEAN - if you're from there) has a harder "J" sound similar to that of Sonia, who's from "next door" in Venezuela, so that figures. -
Spain,"Ella" = "EH-yah" at least in the North of Madrid, the "ll" is like a "Y"
Agentina, "Ella" = EH-shah" (almost, not quite, but it's somewhere between "J" and "SH" - Some from that region sound we would say "Asia" in English.
Again, total minutia, everyone will understand whether eh-ya, eh-Ja, eh-sia or anything in between, but it's a silly thing that I notice, too. Need a better hobby, huh?
