I've just tried it on my other Mac and it does the exact same thing, so I'm guessing it's the disc? Help?

Hi Melisa, I sent you an email to troubleshoot. It looks like you may just have an older version on a new OS, so we will just need to get you the latest version. Thanks, Andy

Hmmmm... looks like I have encountered this same issue. I have Spanish version 2.7 and was trying to install on OSx Mavericks (10.9). Where can I get the latest installation software?

Same with me. I purchased a Macbook Air over the weekend and have been trying to install Spanish 1 v2.5 all morning. Same symptoms as melisapermansu, (i.e., DVD-ROM "installs" for about a half an hour, then just quits right at the end, as verified by the progress bar). Tried twice with an Asus USB CD/DVD drive and once with an Apple USB SuperDrive. Install failed with "an unexpected error", (log file not saved).
All OS updates have been installed over the weekend and a check just now shows no OS updates available. The Macbook Air is running Mavericks 10.9.2
Downloaded and tried to install "Fluenz Spanish 1 2.5 Update.app", but it would not install saying that Fluenz is not installed.
Did I grab the wrong "update"? What should I try now?
p.s. I also have French and Italian, but have not tried installing them yet, (as I want to finish with Spanish first).
