Tough one. I think you could get away with "pour" in the second sentence, but someone may correct me. But generally, you don't need "pour" with verbs following "aller." For example, "Je vais manger a ce restaurant" because here you are not really "going" "for the purpose" of eating. I think "aller + infinitive" is actually a specific verb construction in French. If in your second example "au stade" were not there, it might be more easily seen as not needing the "pour."

I am fairly sure that "pour voir un match de foot" would be correct.
