Tu form in Spanish
I don't understand why there is such an aversion in the lessons in using the "Tu" form. It's beyond strange to me. Why avoid this? I will be traveling to Mexico etc. and seeing friends who live and are from there. I will never be using the Usted form with them but am not getting nearly enough practice with the Tu conjugations in the practices. I understand if I were traveling for the first time the need to know Usted versions but in practicing phrases like, "Did you pay the check?" --- If I were dining with someone and had reason to ask this question it would definitely be in the Tu form by the end of dinner if not before.
When using object pronouns avoiding using Te constantly is a mistake. Le can be used with el/ella so it already can be practiced. But never practicing or even learning Te will cause problems for people like me who are visiting friends who are native speakers.
Also using Fuiste a ton but avoid tu forms in all other verbs is confusing when doing the flashcards. I'm so use to avoiding the tu form that I get those flash cards wrong every time.
Why avoid the Tu form so vehemently? This is a disservice to the practice. I'm only on Level 2 and hope that subsequent levels step up the use of the Tu form. I think this is a huge miscalculation on your part.
