color as an adjective does match the gender of the word being described, as in this case. However, if you are saying "in a color", such as "we have it in black", then you always use the masculine form. in that case, the color is actually a noun, not an adjective. As you mentioned, this is covered at length in the Lesson 15 tutorial. Watch it again, you will see the differences.

"we have it in black" ... wouldn't "it" be the noun?
