I think that how much you study is up to you, some persons have good retentive skill but if you are like me, I need to go back and repeat the sessions. I have found that if I go back to an earlier session and it is easy and slightly boring, then the chances are that I have learnt that session well enough. I have found that it helps to do some other Spanish lessons in a group with a teacher but the key is practise. Don't rush, learn slowly and well.

My personal goal is to have instant understanding when playing back the audio for the vocabulary words and sentences. The material builds on itself, so getting the vocabulary down before moving makes it consistently simple to progress through future lessons. Repetition with the vocab and native speaker sentences is key.
