@Sylvia -Sonia doesn't say that "we use caminando without estar"
She says:
Vamos = Let's go
+ you already know the "ando" forms: Estoy caminando= I'm walking
So: Vamos caminando = Let's go walking
No need for the verb "estar" in this case because we already have "Vamos"
This is a special case, but in all other contexts than "Let's go + ING verb" of course we do need to use "estar", so:
I'm walking to the market = Estoy caminando al mercado
OR it's very common to use the verb "to go" in this type of case since it implies a direction: Voy caminando al mercado
but you need one or the other (estar/ir)
