pronunciation of spanish informal plural
My problem is a bit hard to explain in writing as it regards sounds. I reached lesson ten of Spanish 5 (spain) about 6 months ago and then stopped using the program. I've started again but gone back to level 1. My problem regards the éis, áis and if I remember right there is also an ís, sounds. In lesson three of level one the word queréis is covered. There is both a female and a male voice used in the workouts. One of them pronounces the sound éis like the "ice" in the girl's name Patrice or in Police while the other sounds it more like (to me anyway) 'ace', as in the ace of clubs. Which is correct? As I don't have very good ears for similar sounding sounds maybe I'm simply mishearing. I would also be very grateful if anyone is able to explain in writing how to sound all three: éis, áis and ís? Thanks from Australia.
