Good to hear! I actually have that movie in a stack waiting to be watched. I may do so tonight after my study.

It was a very sad movie at times, and you were right, a wonderful performance from Marion Cotillard. I will be on the lookout for more movies she appears in. I thought it interesting, the singing style with the long rolling R's, similar to the way Jacques Brel sang in his recordings. Unfortunately, I could not get the English subtitles working and I did not want to watch it in English so I watched it with French subtitles. The good news is that they are very accurate, and should be very handy for down the road when my comprehension gets better.
I'd like to share a couple movie suggestions for a few I've recently seen and really enjoyed.
Gainsbourg (Vie Héroïque / A heroic life) A look at Serge Gainsbourg's life and career.
I've also been watching a good number of early Eric Rohmer movies and especially enjoyed the following two. They are worth looking at. The quality and articulation used by characters in the movies is always clear and well recorded.
Ma nuit chez Maud (1969). A great story. Plenty of lengthy one to one conversations typical of Eric Rohmer. A bonus is to see plenty of 1969, Claremont France the way it was then.
L'amour l'après-midi (1972). A married man's desire to stray. A unexpected and wonderful ending.
