@Rachel53 Demonstrative adjectives can be a little confusing at first as the masculine singular forms don't end in -o. Here is an article that might help: http://spanish.about.com/od/adjective...

Thank you Mélanie, but still confused. Where does "estes" and "eses" fit in here? I am doing LA Spanish and there has been no esos or estos.

@Rachel53 we cover demonstrative adjectives and pronouns throughout the program, so this will come in at a later date. Can you please precise what lesson and workout you saw 'estes' so we can look into this.

this friend = este o esta amigo/a I want this = quiero esto o esta
plurals: these friends = estos o estas amigos/amigas.
that friend = ese o esa amigos/amigas plurals: those friends = esos o esas amigos/amigas.
I want that= eso o esa plural: I want those = esos o esas
Hope it helps.

Federico, to sum up, it looks like you're saying that when "this" is used as an adjective, it becomes "este," and when it's used as a noun, it's "esto." And the same rule applies to "that," with "ese" and "eso." But when you pluralize "ese" and "eso," they both become "estos" regardless of whether they're used as adjectives or nouns. To Rachel's original question, that would suggest that there's no such word as "estes."

"Estos" is the plural of "este" and "estas" is the plural of ""esta"

As my colombian friend once explained to me, cause I had problems with this too, esto and eso is used a lot when you don't know what the object is. He said for example, the phrase is "Que es esto/eso" which means what is this/that. You don't know what it is your referring to so you don't use que es esta/este. It is que es esto/eso. If your talking about milk (la leche) you would say esta leche (this milk). As far as estes/estos, Estos is used and not estes. So if you want to say this book it is (este libro). But these books is estos libros. That book is ese libro and those books is esos libros. So basically remember it like this. There is no estes or eses and just say estos and esos when you want to say these/those when the object being referred to is masculine. I hope this helped and didn't confuse you more.

I am starting to think I never saw estes at all, I just extrapolated it out from este/ esta/esa/esas presented in Lesson 15. I just re-watched that lesson (I'm a few past it now) and Sonia only talks about "estas" not estes. Sorry! So estos is the correct plural. Well, I guess that one is burned into my mind! Thank you, everyone!
