Hi Donna - The problem with this is that the English phrase "I lived in this neighborhood" can be translated both ways in Italian, depending on the context and meaning. All through level 5 you're taught when to use the imperfect and the passato prossimo, but we introduce the differences between them little by little. That's why from session 3 we translate the imperfect with that "used to". This way, if you see "used to" in the English version you know that you have to use the imperfect, and if you don't have a "used to" then you'll use the passato prossimo. That's the reason why the program won't accept both options, even if the two of them could be correct. It's meant to be a hint so that you can start using both tenses, but this changes later in the program.
