Hi Michael
Essentially "andare a fare spese" and "fare spese" both mean the same: to go shopping. Be careful not to confuse "to go shopping" which is "andare a fare spese" or just "fare spese" with "to go do THE shopping" (that's food, cleaning products, etc) which would be "andare a fare la spesa" and which we introduce in level 4 session 23. So in your sentences we could say:
Do you feel like going shopping after work?
Hai voglia di andare a fare spese dopo lavoro? / Hai voglia di fare spese dopo lavoro?
I must go shopping (as in clothes shopping or window shopping) because...
Devo fare spese perche'... / Devo andare a fare spese perche
I want to go shopping in the city.
Voglio andare a fare spese in citta'. / Voglio fare spese in città
Usually I go shopping every week.
Di solito, vado a fare spese tutte le settimane... / Di solito faccio spese tutte le settimane...
We can go shopping or...
Possiamo fare spese o... / Possiamo andare a fare spese o....
Thanks to your comment we noticed that the program doesn't always give you the double option "andare a fare spese" or just "fare spese" so we will update this.
