In your first example, bought is past tense, so the phrase in French is using the passé composé. In this case the past tense of acheter, which has avoir as it's auxiliary verb. It might be easier to understand if you look at it this way, Elle a acheté, she bought, which I am sure you are quite familiar with at this level. The second example, is in the present tense, you bring us, but if it were you brought us, it would be Vous nous avez apporté. I hope that makes sense and you see the pattern there.
