Is Mexico South America or Central? Nonetheless, I have been to Mexico and I have friends who have been there also. The question is what do you want to do there? Do you want to go the beach, learn a language, see they pyramids, hang out with gringos, avoid gringos. It is a big country with a lot to see and do. Research Cancun, Playa de Carmen, Puebla, teotihuacan. Good luck

HI! Thanks so much for responding. I'm more interested in Argentina, Chile, Peru, those areas of south America. Do you have any information on those areas? Thanks! :)

Argentina is a great destination. It is relatively safe, I have been there many times and have had no problems. Buenos Aires is one of my favourite cities and the food and wine are really good. if you go make sure you see a game of football, it is worth it for the atmosphere alone and you will be safe provided you don't go in the standing areas. I would also recommend Mendoza (home of malbec!) and the Argentinian lake district around Bariloche for the scenery. The only thing Argentina lacks is good beaches (although there are some nice beaches in Uruguay which are easy to get to from Buenos Aires) The best beaches I have been to in South America are in Venezuela in the Choroni area but now is maybe not the safest time to be visiting Venezuela.

I live on the outskirts of Rosario (four hours north of Buenos Aires, in Argentina) at the moment and love it here. This is a great country. I've visited most countries in Latin America (all except for Chile), and there isn't anywhere that I'd say you don't want to spend time in. I have a particular weakness for Mexico, it must be said...
