For Ya, I think it's the same as "i'm already ready" vs "i'm ready, already". There is a slight difference in the emphasis.
For "próxima" I recall that Sonia explains in level 4 or 5 that you will actually encounter it after the word more often and that's the same meaning. I was giving directions to a taxi and used "en la calle próxima" and he understood me :)
