@Sonia Gil.... Enjoyed your comments in the epilogue to SP/LA 4-16, regarding "los mosquitos". In the tropics of South America, it sounds like a "raqueta de tenis" might be a more effective a defense than "el repelente". Here in Minnesota, we affectionately refer to the mosquito as the "Minnesota State Bird!" By the way, is mosquito a diminutive form of "la mosca" (the fly)? If so, it's interesting that one is masculine and the other is feminine in grammatical gender. Any thoughts as to why this might be? Any "black flies" in the tropics?? Many in the northwoods of Minnesota would consider them to be a greater scourge than the mosquito. It is said that they require one to wear "full-body armor" !!!
